Time: 10am – 5.30pm

Course Fee: £350 the kit not included in the course fee

Emergency Kit: £150 plus vat (you’re not required to bring the kit on training date, however an emergency kit is essential for anyone performing aesthetic treatment as in event of a medical emergency. This is a non profit organised, a prescription needed to purchase the kit and need to purchase in advance before training date. The kit fee required to pay on order date.

Certificate: The course is fully CPD accredited with certificate.

The course is Anatomy, complications, emergencies and improving patient safety in aesthetic practice. The course is aimed at non medics but medics e.g nurses are very welcome to attend.

The course covers the following:

Anatomy of the head and neck, mouth and face, vital structures in anatomy (to avoid) when injecting in the head and neck. detailed review of aesthetic danger zones.

Decontamination, sterilisation and blood borne pathogens

Patient selection (which patient types to avoid for medical or psychiatric reasons) and dealing with difficult patients

Patient consent- how to take and discuss risks and some medico-legal tips.

Basic pharmacology of fillers, botox, local anaesthetics and adrenaline

How to administer a safe injection- e.g needle aspiration and other tips etc.

Complications of fillers – includes all complications from common to rare and describes an evidence based approach to vascular occlusions and the use of hyaluronidase for both routine and emergency use and when to refer. Also will include Botox complications and management.

Medical emergencies appropriate to injecting practice- recognition and management, includes fainting, unwell patient, anaphylaxis and emergency kit basics (include also how to administer an intramuscular injection i.e adrenaline for anaphylaxis and the potential pitfalls of epipens!!)

Final section is a bonus teaching session on basic oral pathology and medicine and basic dermatology. This will include recognition of oral facial infections and oral/ skin cancers. This is because now many skin cancers are being picked up by workers in the beauty industry as they are well experienced with skin.

The overall focus of the course is on patient safety and improving practitioner confidence in a relaxed environment.
