Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Course for both medical and non-medical students
Platelet Rich Plasma treatment also known as PRP or the Vampire facial. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. In this way, PRP injections use each individual patient’s own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems.
PRP injections are prepared by taking anywhere from one to a few tubes of your own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into your injured or diseased body tissue. This releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces.
This course is combined theory and practical activities
On this course you will learn how to safely perform PRP treatment which involves taking a small sample of the patient’s blood is taken from their arm and placed into a centrifuge, which spins it very rapidly to separate the plasma from the red blood cells. The plasma can be injected directly into specific areas of the skin, or skin needling can be used to create tiny punctures across a larger area, to allow the plasma to be absorbed.

To secure your place we are required booking of 50% of the course fees due before enrollment. Full payment must be made before the first day of the course.
Entry requirements:
An adult aged 18 and over
We recommend that you already hold relevant qualifications before taking this course (e.g. NVQ Beauty Therapy Level 3). To enrolling this course we recommended to be trained in phlebotomy prior of this course. If you do not possess a qualification, please contact us to discuss and we can advise. Please note, however, that most insurance companies require that you hold a level 3 to obtain insurance.
If you are a medical professional (e.g. doctor, nurse), you can enroll without any beauty qualifications.
